California Department of Education (CDE) Site Approval

Coordinate the Field Site Review as well as the completion and submittal of all CDE required forms. Review and provide recommendations on all health and safety studies, based on the CDE requirements. Coordinate the Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics review and approval. Make strong advocacy efforts for the interests of Local Educational Agencies.

Coordinate the completion and submittal of all CDE required forms. Work with architects to ensure compliance with Title 5 before DSA approval is secured. Assist in the development of Educational Specifications for new construction and modernization. Provide advice on the self-certification process for health and safety requirements. Make strong advocacy efforts for the interests of Local Educational Agencies.

Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Site Clearance

Facilitate the Environmental Oversight Program application and grant procurement. Coordinate Scoping Meetings as well as Public Notices and Public Hearings. Coordinate completion of School Cleanup Agreements or Voluntary Cleanup Agreements. Make strong advocacy efforts for the interests of Local Educational Agencies.

Master and Community Planning

Develop Five-Year Master Plans with long-range facilities needs analyses. Work with local governmental agencies to complete Dwelling Units Analyses for use in the augmentation of LEA eligibility. Advocate for school site designation in Specific Plans and Community Plans. Coordinate future planning and development issues with City and County Planning Departments. Assist Districts with the assessment of developer fees.
